We just got back from Colorado, where we made a point of seeing the beautiful fall colors of the mountain trees. While the vegetation in Louisiana has its perks- it’s always green, there are beautiful, giant oak trees and it is easy to grow things down here- being in Colorado reminded me how much I miss having four distinct seasons. These are photos taken up at Dillon Lake, where my husband, my sister and I spent an afternoon walking and enjoying the fall colors.

Alicia’s Bridal Portraits
I have been wanting to post my photos from a fun bridal shoot I did with Alicia about a month ago, but I had to wait until her wedding so I wouldn’t spoil the surprise of her wedding dress!

For the shoot, we drove about an hour outside of New Orleans to the beautiful Blythewood Plantation in Amite, Louisiana, the venue for the wedding and reception. The owners were kind enough to let us use the house and grounds for a couple hours.
The light was beautiful, as were the grounds, so we spent a lot of time shooting outside the plantation. Kate, Alicia’s friend and a past client, was a wonderful assistant throughout the shoot.
We moved inside for the last part of the shoot. We did not get the chance to take as many photos as I wanted to inside, but we had fun being creative with some of the lovely, old features of the home, like the bathtub, beautiful door and old furniture.
It was such a fun shoot. Alicia, thanks again for letting me take part in your bridal portraits and your engagement photos. From the look of the photos appearing on Facebook from last weekend, it looks like the wedding was a blast. A huge congratulations to Alicia and Tyler!
