I feel truly at home in the mountains of Colorado, or trekking through the wilderness in a far off land. I have done my fair share of traveling, both close to home and as far as Iceland or Japan. I journeyed to Nicaragua and Ecuador with New Orleans Medical Missions and helped assist surgeons in providing things like knee replacements to these communities. The first two times I went as a nurse, and the third time I was the official photographer of the trip. I have explored many of the natural wonders around our country and enjoyed backpacking through nature, lugging my heavy camera all the way. For me to truly explore a new land or a new culture, I need my lens. I really see a place by photographing it. While the kind of travel I’ve enjoyed in the past was put on hold with COVID and having children, I continued to get out into the wilderness with my family. We have enjoyed escaping in the mountains through hiking and camping, and we have plans to get back to more traveling in this next year. Traveling with children is a new challenge, but also a new joy and an invaluable experience for them. Someday I want to take my sons to all these wonderful locations and find new places for us to explore together. Images seen here are for sale upon request.
